One of the most amazing aspects of television is how it constantly keeps is invested in and rooting for couples in love. Some couples have already stood the test of time, while other have the ability to eventually be timeless. Below, are ten romances that have kept us enthralled, intrigues and hoping for, as well as believing in, happily ever after.
Lucy and Ricky the ultimate TV couple, these two played off of each other so well; she was goofy and fame-obsessed; he was straight-laced and somewhat famous. Their marriage had imperfections (at least one each week) but at the end of the day (or at least 30 minutes) there was no doubt the two were in love.
Archie and Edith these two are the perfect example of opposites attracting. She was mild-mannered and cautious; he was angry and ignorant, but also a decent, family man. Archie and Edith was a relationship that worked because their love for one another, underneath all the character quirks, was undeniable.
Kevin and Winnie the epitome of young love, Kevin Arnold longed for the girl-next door and the two embarked on a lifetime of on-again, off-again love. Although they ultimately did not end up together, the show spectacularly displayed their young love, making them face all the universal road bumps that elementary school, high school and college lovers go through, and managed to keep the audience rooting for them the entire time.
Ray and Debra in between taking care of the children, working and dealing with overly-intrusive in-laws, Ray and Debra blossomed as one of the most realistic marriages on TV. Their relationship had flaws, they weren't always happy, yet the audience knew they were in it for the long run and the love between them was only strengthened by their flaws. One of the funniest couples on TV, as well, they were able to laugh as they worked through their problems.
Miranda and Steve while Sex and the City was a show based on friendships, and the relationship between Carrie and Mr. Big was supposed to be its romantic anchor, Miranda and Steve emerged as the most real of all the relationships on the show. They both had their issues; but it was the characteristics that made them clash that ultimately helped them change one another and made their relationship work, a relationship that was paced perfectly. The episode, in which they get back together for the final time (season six's One) she tells him that she's in love, and he tells her that she's the one, something the audience knew all along.
