Her Cosmic Eye
Tears falling like rain reflect the sorrow,
and her pain, as she reminisces about planet Earth,
who once was lush and green, life safe, serene,
nature balanced, a harmonious, ecological marvel.
Onto the land then came man, in the blink of her cosmic eye,
millions of years of evolutionary plan, altered, set aside,
greed of man, nowhere for nature to make a stand,
regresses into the realm of extinction.
Ignoring all signs man now begins his decline,
progress halted, starts to reverse, disaster upon disaster,
infected, deep ragged scars cannot heal, mortally wounded,
recovery not possible, earth cannot rebound as long as
mankind is around.
Mankind's charge to destruction the blink of her cosmic eye,
not if, but when, takes time, man will ultimately succumb,
he cannot survive, when nature can no longer provide,
then he will die.
Nature will recover, the tears will dry, a return to serenity,
within the blink of her cosmic eye.
