and is an antidepressant! With all that on your side, it is about time you get busy in the bedroom.
Less Depression and Less Anxiety.
Sex is known for helping depression and anxiety. Part of this could very well be from the human contact and the emotional well being that sex can promote. However, part of it is also the release of oxytocin and DHEA both of which are natural antidepressants.
Boosts Hormones.
When a man has sex testosterone is released into his blood system. On the other hand when a woman has sex estrogen is released into her system. Both hormones have a lot of advantages in the system. Testosterone is known for fortifying bones and muscles and for helping the heart out. Estrogen protects against heart disease. All in all, more hormones are good for the body.
Improves Sleep.
We have all heard, seen, or been the man who has sleep and falls asleep right away. Well this is because of the hormones, such as oxytocin that are released during orgasm. Research shows that sex improves sleep and makes for a better tomorrow.
Decreases Incontinence.
As we age our pelvic floor muscles get weaker. This is just the way it is. However, sex increases the strength of these muscles and can reduce the risk of incontinence (the inability to control the bladder). You could prolong this aging as well with regular sex.
Reduces Cancer Risks.
Research has shown that lots of sex during the early years (20's-30's) can actually decrease a man's risk of prostate cancer by 30%. In addition to this, some studies are showing that sex may also decrease a woman's risk of breast cancer!
So, while sex is fun and can make you feel better about yourself, it also has a lot of health benefits. More and more studies are suggesting that regular sex could lead to a healthier and longer life. Sex to live longer, that sounds great!
