The health benefits of sex

Most people enjoy sex, at least some times. We know that when done right, sex feels good and is an enjoyable experience. What many of us don't realize is that there are a host of benefits to having regular sex. While the science isn't all there yet, there is a lot of research that suggests that sex two or more times a week can improve a lot of different parts of our health!

Exercise.

We all know that we get exercise out of sex. However, few of us realize how good it is. We burn at least 85 calories for every 1/2 hour of sex and some research shows that it could be as much as 200 calories in that 1/2 hour. While you are burning calories you are also improving strength and flexibility, increasing muscle tone, and conditioning your heart. With all of these benefits, sex could be your key to weight loss and feeling better!

Boosts Immunity.

Sex increases the amount of immunoglobulin A (Ig A) which helps you fight off colds, flu, and other minor illnesses. In fact, there are several different studies that show that those who have sex regularly are ill less often, have fewer doctor's visits, and are more likely to get better faster. Most even recover from major illnesses and surgeries faster having shorter hospital stays.

Improves Cardiovascular Health.

Sex also lowers blood pressure and increases heart health. Part of this is the benefits from the exercise, but it goes beyond that. Those in an age bracket at risk for heart attack and stroke can lower their risks, possibly by as much as 50%, by having sex two or more times a week.

Detoxification.

Sex gets the blood pumping. This allows more blood to move into the organs including the brain and allows oxygen to move more freely through the body. Both of these help to detoxify the body and get rid of toxins in the systems.

Reduces Pain.

Whether you are suffering from a headache, PMS, or some other minor pain sex could be your answer. Having sex releases a hormone in your brain called ocytocin. Oxytocin has a lot of health benefits and one of them is that it is a natural pain reliever. Sure you may not feel completely better when you are done, but it is bound to improve. Time for the, "honey I have a headache" to become a yes phrase instead of a no phrase!

Fountain of Youth.

We have spent a lot of time looking for the fountain of youth. What most of us don't realize is that sex may just be that fountain. Sex releases DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone) which boosts the immune system, repairs tissue, improves cognition, keeps skin healthy,
