The college experience is all about studying, friends and food. Eating pizza is one thing that all college students have in common. With all the dining options available to students, why are they choosing pizza as their ultimate meal?

Availability

Pizza restaurants know that college students are young and hungry and a great source of revenue. If you have ever visited a college town there is literally a pizza joint on every corner. College students are going to eat what is easiest for them get. Convenience is one of the primary reasons that pizza is so universally eaten by college students everywhere.

Price

Most students are on a very tight budget and pizza is one of the most economic meals out there. There are coupons available to bring the price down even more.

Delivery

Many pizzerias offer delivery. Whether you are cramming late night or having a great party at 3am in the dorm there will be a local restaurant who will deliver a hot and delicious pizza to you. If there isn't local delivery then that leads to the next reason.

Frozen Pizza

Pizza is offered at the grocery store frozen and can be popped into a conventional, microwave or toaster oven and give you a hot a delicious pizza in about the same time it takes to get delivery. The price is even lower than delivery and again coupons and specials can lower that price even more

Good to share

The beauty of pizza is that it is a meal that can be shared and thus again the price can be shared making it one of the best bargains on the planet for college students.

Don't need plates or silverware

Pizza is finger food. You can eat it anytime and anywhere without a plate or a knife or a fork. You can pick the slice up right out of the box and roll it up if it is thin crust or just stuff it in your mouth if it is thick crust and create a minimal amount of mess. What college student wants to have to deal with dirty dishes?

Everyone can have what they want

You really can have it your way with pizza. Most pizzerias will divide up the pizza by toppings so if you have friends that like it plain and some that like it all, you can all get what you want on one pie. The options for toppings are almost limitless including everything from simple cheese and sauce to a garbage pizza which can include meatballs, sausage, pepperoni, chicken, peppers, mushrooms, onions, olives, bacon and pineapple just to mention a few.

Great for breakfast

Whoever said that Wheaties are the breakfast of champions has obviously never eaten cold pizza. The best part of having pizza in the evening is knowing that there may be leftovers for breakfast and for college students who are constantly on the go it makes an easy and more importantly portable breakfast.

Nourishing

The fact that pizza can actually be good for them has relieved the mind of many parents of college students. With protein, fiber and carbohydrates pizza while not the perfect food does offer plenty of energy and vitamins to keep the college student working at their best levels.

No one is ever going to say that pizza is the perfect food however for busy college students it comes pretty darn close.
