Talk show hosts a plenty....

We see them come and go like the wind most times, like Carney Wilson and Ricki Lake. However, I feel that Ellen DeGeneres is here to stay for a while.

Ellen's personality sets it off. She's just liked by so many people, and her carefree "rolls off the tongue" dialogue is just hilarious in itself. But the show is fun, and keeps you watching. I'll never forget the promotion for "Finding Nemo" when she even had the entire show televised to look like it was under water. I've never seen anything else like that on any other show. She gives things away, she is kind, and she's always coming up with something new and exciting. Comparing Ellen DeGeneres to someone like the Megan Mullally show, you can see the big differences. I love Megan Mullally as a person and as the character she played on Will & Grace; who wouldn't? However, her talk show is slowly flopping, and I saw that coming since day one. It's just too typical and she isn't the same "Karen" that we knew on the hit sitcom. Ellen is the same everywhere she goes, another key point to her success.

These are the characteristics of things that keep the long running talk shows that we know and love still to this day, on the air.
