Being a good little league coach rests in just a few componants!
1. Patience
2. Understanding
3. Passion
4. Equality
If you have these 4 simple componants you'll succeed as a coach at this level!
Patience is the most important in my eyes. You need to understand that not ALL the kids will have the most talent in the world, and some may not have ever played the game or a sport at all! You need to be patient with these kids and teach the the proper tools to succeed in little league. You can not get discouraged when children don't understand right away, you need to be presistant and not give up or get down on them!
Understanding is a key coaching little leaguers as well! Understanding that not all, in face MOST of the kids could not care about winning or losing but having fun while doing it! Understanding that these kids are learning some new and trying things for the first time, therefor you want to give them a good experiance so that they'll want to do this again!
When I say passion, it may not have to be about the game so much but more about the kids. Have the passion to help these kids learn. The passion to show kids something new in their young lives and help them enjoy it! Big thing is, it's ALL about the kids!
Finally equality. Something that needs to be shared with every child is the chance to play the game and enjoy the experiance just like every other child. It's key not to let one child dominate the whole experiance and take away from the the oppertunity from any other child! Equality it can not be challeneged, it's a componant that CAN NOT be left behind!
ITS ALL ABOUT THE KIDS!
