In the face of adversity, it is precisely this fair life that provides us with the concept of opportunity. Although we are not always equipped with tangible tools to overcome what may be considered irreconcilable, even horrific circumstances, we are always left with an option; faith.
In order understand the potential power of faith; let's first consider what is fair, as well as the roles of faith and fate.
What is fair?
The unfairness or fairness we may experience in life is directly proportionate to what we believe we deserve. Most likely, we, as a global community, can unanimously agree that there are many external conditions that may place us at a disadvantage.
Racism, poverty and social exclusion, education bans and children forced to fight wars are examples of compelling testimonies to the existence of injustice.
Additionally, if we don't receive a reward for hard work, our society's rules of etiquette instigate our feeling slighted. If an athlete wins the gold medal despite their obvious steroid use, we support his virtuous opponent with a public outcry.
What is unfair may seem obvious, but it is within these circumstances that we can realize that our perception of fairness is relative to our faith.
What is faith?
Everyone, in every corner of the world, has the innate ability to trust. It is our birthright. Over time, this instinctive trust is consistently tested in everyone, beginning at birth and continuing until death. Our ability to groom trust is essential in developing faith.
Faith does not require formal education, nor is it reserved for ideal circumstances. It cannot be discriminatory because its power is relative and exclusive to each of us.
Faith is the creator of possibility in spite of adversity. Our circumstances might be out of our physical control, but our faith can never be confiscated.
Adversity offers the opportunity to test our faith and further expand it, if we choose. In surrendering to faith we change our perception of the conditions around us. If we believe that we can turn devastation into triumph, faith is at hand as an enduring foundation in life and offers support as we assume our fate.
What is fate?
Ultimately, death is our inevitable fate. Everything leading up to death is a series of choices we make, based on a predicted outcome. We cannot presume what our future decisions will entail, but we are provided with choices, no matter how limited they may be.
For example; we turn our head to the right, and expect to find where a sound is coming
