Decorating the bathroom for under $50 is not only rewarding, but easy to do. First, knowing the limitations for the bathroom. Most people either have a bathroom that they can paint or not. Second, deciding on the color scheme or theme for the space. Third, do a little research and comparative shopping (being open minded is vital). Lets break this down for both types of bathrooms.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /

The unlimited bathroom, has the ability to be painted or wallpapered. For a simply classy or fun look find a simple pattern or desired color scheme. Most home improvement stores offer sample cans of paint for around three to four dollars. The samples are also high gloss, which is great for bathrooms. Do not forget the paintbrushes, prices will vary. The best way to keep it affordable is painting a trim or boarder design. This can be as simple as lines to stenciling, even sponging. No trip to the store here. Remember the butter containers that we keep because we are going to use them some day; here is the chance to use them. Depending on the type of tools available, a razor blade or sharp cutting instrument will be necessary. Draw an easy design. Too much work, not a problem try a local craft store and look at the stencils, most are under six dollars or on clearance. Painters tape is a must for design and trim. This can be found at the hardware store and usually under three dollars.

After the wall is done move on to the shower. Find a clear shower curtain for under three dollars and clear plastic rings for under two dollars, which can be done with a little research. If there is left over paint and the desire is great, paint designs on the shower curtain. Find an affordable store and get new towels, hand towels, and wash clothes. Major chains can have these items for as little as two dollars apiece to five dollars. It is suggested to get two body towels, two hand towel, and two wash cloths; mix and match the colors as desired. The estimated cost so far, a little over 27 dollars average. This leaves a little money to purchase small deco art, a waste basket, or a bathroom rug. If painting was not an option maybe a little more on wallpaper trim. The idea is to spruce up the space, change the look, and keep it under $50.

For the limited bathroom, the walls cannot be changed. The goal is to find a way to make a color pop in the room; this can be done in two ways. First, pay attention to the mail; look for the craft
