England is land of St George, London, pubs, tea & scones, the Beatles and perhaps a little more besides. As part of the UK (United Kingdom), it has some great attractions.
London
At any rate, London is the capital of England and likewise United Kingdom. You will find here, a good number of attractions. Wimbledon, a unique grass court grand slam tennis championship is one such. Then however, there is the Tate Modern gallery and Proms, which are notable. Wembley also hosts the FA Cup final.
Devonshire
Beyond London, Devonshire (southwest) has some great beaches. You will also find Torquay holiday resort with its marina and Dartmoor, which is good for hiking.
Cornwall
Near to Devon, Cornwall (or the West Country) has the Eden Project, which is a large greenhouse. Cornwall also has some good beaches, with waves, such as Newquay or as on Lizard Point. Also in Cornwall, you will find the Ives art gallery, possibly the best in the West Country.
Southern England
In the south, you can find Stonehenge. In addition, the Royal Pavilion is a great site of Brighton, with its Gothic architecture alongside the seaside. Close to London Windsor Castle, with its gardens and castle, is another great site. The Chiltern Hills also makes a good trip with its countryside and pubs that are good for a pint. In Canterbury, Canterbury Cathedral is also worthy of note.
Midlands
The Peak District is a National Park, roughly associated with Derby or at least the Midlands. For country hikes, you will likely find little better in England or even the United Kingdom for that matter.
York (or Yorkshire)
Further north in York, you will find York Minister, a cathedral of Gothic architecture with fine stain glass windows. In addition, the Yorkshire Moors steam railways have classic steam locomotives which cross the Moors.
Black Pool
The seaside resort of Black Pool also has some good beaches, which run alongside the Black Pool Tower. You will also find a good number of arcades, & illuminations are used alongside the promenade.
North England
In Northern England Hadrian's Wall, or its remains, span a 20-30 mile stretch near to Hexam. Chester also has interesting antiquated city walls and museums.
Overall, these are just a few of the great sites to visit in England. So, you should consider visiting at least a few of them. For further details, travel guides are available via various sources.
