For an addict, a driving force is required if he/she thinks of giving up the habit of smoking. If you want to really quit consuming cigarettes, a plan needs to be devised since giving up instantaneously would be like giving yourself a mental harassment and it might cause an adverse situation. Myself being a smoker, I sometimes get restless and it gives me a feeling of something missing thereby deteriorating my concentration on my works.
A best way to attempt quitting on cigarette is by taking a wonderful opportunity as a resolution for New Year. Resolution can be taken for yourself by making it clear that you would quit smoking for good starting from the first date of the first month. However the success rate has been noticed more where a resolution has been kept as a promise for someone who always wanted you to quit, that can be your love, relatives or friends. Perhaps by doing so, in the event of not breaking their heart or either to impress them would give you more potential to deny your temptation.
Just like any kind of habits, smoking can be a really hard challenge for quitting and can even be worse. Cigarette becomes a kind of diet after addiction and therefore if you don't have it, it is similar to getting deprived of your meals. Therefore this is a reason for classifying cigarette as a drug and of course it contains various toxic substances which are unhealthy for our body. A step by step method should be really incorporated to stop smoking successfully.
A month or two should be kept in hand before the New Year and a strict set of rules should be followed to ensure the resolution to stand. Since you cannot and should not stop smoking suddenly so depending upon your intake you have to start quitting slowly few weeks ahead. It has been noticed that the body of someone who smokes require cigarette to reduce stress. Therefore gradual reduction in the intake of cigarette would give you a better percentage of successfully quitting cigarette without much problem. And by the start of New Year, you would be ready enough to go without smoking and it will not pose any risk to your daily routine and body.
So just like other drugs the more you smoke, your urge will increase making it a fatal addiction which would finally require rehabilitation as the last resort. Still there is always a chance to win against smoking if you really put your best effort and put your loved one between you and your cigarette as a resolution for New Year. Therefore in order to retain the trust in your relationship and with following the above step you will look back at that day and lead a happy life. Remember that smoking kills.
