Should the US have a Universal Healthcare system?
I say yes...I mean why not, the old way is broken, corrupt, and lame. Insurance companies today are money hungry, corrupt "jackasses" .They will deny you coverage over in little problem even your size. It#s so bad that even company employees quit their job because of the injustice. A good medical director in the eyes of these companies are ones that can save them mony by finding reasons to deny a patient treatment. Doctors who works for a HMO would even get a bonus if he or she would deny treatment because any claim that is paid is considered as a medical loss.
Insurance compaines in the US would even dig into your past to find any little reason to deny your claim or to jack up the rates so that you will not pay.
It all started with the Nixion adminsation, they needed to deal with the medical problems and the Health Maintenance Organiztion like Edgar Permanent which was a private enterpise. Edgar Kaiser ran Nixion's vice president's deal for profit. All the incentives were towards less medical care...because less medical care you give the more money they made. After that was pointed out on Feb. 18,1971 Nixion proposed a new national health strategy. The deal Nixion and Edgar Kaiser made worked and as years went by patients were given less and less medical care and healthcare companines were rich up until the Clinton era. Hilary Clinton made National Healthcare a national policy. However republicans used fear to turn people away by saying that her ideas were socialist. The AMA did not agree with her idea either and so they used properganda saying Hilary was no better than the Soviet Union. In doing so, the healthcare industry spend nearly hundred million dollars to run her to the ground...and it worked. 10 years later, still no universal healthcare for Americans and yet the rest of the world had it.
The United States is ranked around 37th in healthcare. As years went on, healthcare industries CEO made millions even billions and with that money they even bought the US government. There are more healthcare lobbyist then their are US congressmen. Drug companies even got them a slice. Healthcare and Drug companies paid off the right people...and a suddenly a new bill was passed...The Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement and Modernization Act. If you read in between the lines of that bill, you'll see that these companies wanted $800 billion in tax payer money to be able to charge people whatever they wanted
