Testimonies: The unconditional love between dogs and humans

It is amazing how much of a blessing, in disguise, a dog can be. They often reflect its personality traits to its owner and without fail, the needs for one another are met. Owning a dog can definitely change one's world for the better and when it is least expected. The love received from a dog is unconditional and their loyalty for its master will never fade. For many cases, a dog is often found by its master, all because of fate. This is the story of Nimsi.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /

He's a little critter with stubby four legs that can nearly outrun any other dog. A knight in shining armor that barks at men whom he feels are not to be trusted around me, but has the tendency to bark gleefully when he is excited to see me come home. He is covered in a beautiful combination of long, dark, and brown coat. He has ears that perk up constantly when acknowledged and a pair of eyes to die for when he flaunts the romantic stare. His tail is complimented with feathery fur that sweeps freely in the air. He is quite the dancer when given food or taken outside to do his business. And lastly, a sleepy charmer that loves to cuddle at any given chance.

He was found as an obviously abused stray dog and was taken to the animal shelter nearby my home. He was later adopted by my hairdresser's daughter whom is about the same age as me. A few months went by and he was, again, not wanted nor loved anymore. My hairdresser's daughter suffers from several mental issues such as depression and severe bipolar disorder; this took a huge toll on Nimsi because he was not well taken cared of. He lacked medical attention when needed, was forced to consume the cheap food that he disliked, and lacked any affectionate attention. I'm almost positive that he suffered abuse from both of the previous owners, physically and mentally. I am Deaf and I enjoy using sign language whenever I speak to him. Unfortunately, Nimsi often grimaces and curls up in fear because he seems to think that I will lay a hand on him. He's had several episodes of separation anxiety and is very attached to me. When I first got Nimsi, he reeked like there was no tomorrow and he was not properly groomed. His teeth were colored in shades of shoddy mud. His eyes were crusted with months' worth of untouched boogers and his claws were insanely long. This is when I knew something had to be done and there was no way I could reject him.

I heard through the grapevine that Nimsi was in
