What are the reasons one should believe in God? I myself would love to know the answer to that endless abyss of banter and tainted interpretation. I do know the reasons why one should not believe in God or better yet wouldn't want to believe in God. The great majority of large organized religious establishments have their radicals to thank for that. What I also know is that if one believes in God there is no reason needed to do so. I believe that if reasons based on human subjectivity are the foundation of which your belief is built, the likelihood of compromise in its integrity is high. When one comes to the honest conclusion that they whole heartedly entrust their eternal mortality to whatever Supreme Being of their choice, it is only as pure as the motivation. Therefore, the individual has been enlightened to a concept of spiritual inferiority and accepts the path that leads to the ultimate spiritual fulfillment, and with it the tasks and duties required. It is blatant how weak the faith of the average religious person really is. If people really believed in God and really held strong to those "reasons" that establish their belief why do they feel the need to take circumstances into their own hands all the time. Isn't one of the trends throughout most religions be it Christianity, Islam, Hinduism etc. faith? The idea that we are not in control but there is one or in some cases a combination of Gods in control for us? That this God has a plan and that we should have faith and that in it our best intentions are in mind? In the bible it says "...faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen." what this says to me is that to believe in God is an action that requires no reason or logic or intelligence for that matter. It is an act of love that remains unexplainable, which is why mankind since the beginning of time has been trying to explain it and has yet to develop a viable explanation or "reason". The reality is there is no reason to believe in God, God doesn't need you to believe, he/she, it is going to be there regardless of your belief or not. There is a fundamental problem with giving people reasons to believe in God and that is because often times the reasons turn into rebukes and censure, this takes place in many different religions regardless of what part of the world you live in. The reasons become engulfed in false interpretations and ill advised direction, causing once pure loving minds to be confused and feel threatened by the God their supposed to believe in. All of a sudden what once was a God of compassion and acceptance is now a God of hell and blowing up buildings and hoarding money from the poor. I can't give someone a reason to believe in that God. I can tell you that to believe in something, in anything should be only because you have to, because you feel compelled in such a way that to do otherwise would destroy you. There is no better reason to believe in anything besides the belief itself. I have not chosen to believe in God, I have chosen to believe.
