Though I try to be impartial, I have been an educator for a school who uses Dermalogica products for over 8 years. Dermalogica is by far the most trusted, valuable, innovative and professional-result oriented skin care product line in the market today. They are a large company who has not lost their initial mission, which is to provide professional, strength, effective and safe skin care products. To review the Special Cleansing Gel facial cleanser is my pleasure.

Special Cleansing Gel is a gel cleanser which foams when emulsified with water. It is for use on normal to oily skin types and also is effective on acneic skins which are sensitive to harsh active acne ingredients. Special Cleansing Gel removes excess oils without drying and sensitizing the skin, thus resulting a a clean, refreshed skin.

The ingredient used to create the foaming, deep-cleaning action is not the popular, commercially used "sulfates" but a natural extract called "saponaria". The use of this natural ingredient cleanses without stripping the skin of its well-needed moisture but cleanses enough to remove excess oils. Other extracts include soothing agents, antiseptic extracts and a ph balance that is safe for all skin types. This product by far is a cleanser that is worth every cent due to the small amount of product needed matched with the effective and gentle action to the skin.

For the client who has combination skin, the client looking to control oiliness, but also has dry areas, the client who has hormonal breakouts, the client who is sensitive but needs deep cleaning and the every day client just looking for a good cleanser, this is the perfect product. It is available in an 8 ounce and 16 ounce size, and is also available in a trial size kit which lasts 30 days for the skeptical consumer. The price is in the median average currently on the market, between $28-$42 depending on the size and your area sales tax.

I have been trained and experienced working with many professional product lines including Pevonia, Glymed, Murad, Repechage, Dr.Haushka, Peter Thomas Roth, CA Botana, Aveda, Philosophy, Guinot, and many more. I have used many products by these lines as well as Dermalogica that can be compared to another from a different product line. But the Special Cleansing Gel by Dermalogica however, I have yet to find a comparable product. The users of this cleanser very rarely stray to another line or product as it is so uniquely balanced for the results most skins need and will benefit from.
