Current low interest rates have created the ideal climate for purchasing a home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. With a variety of price ranges, architectural styles and neighborhood amenities, the Oklahoma City real estate market can accommodate all buyers.
The construction boom may have slowed down in other parts of the country, but it never stopped in recession proof OKC. From starter homes to executive homes, new housing is being built for a variety budgets. The majority of new homes are being built on Oklahoma City's northwest side. Bedroom communities, such as Piedmont, Deer Creek, Edmond, Moore, Mustang and Yukon, are also experiencing growth through new home construction. An 1800 square foot, 3 bedrooms, 2 bath starter home on of an acre is available in Piedmont's Colony Point for around $130,000. For increased square footage, an extra bath and gated entrance, homes in Edmond's Valencia and Oklahoma City's Cobblestone start around $225,000. Executive homes can be found in numerous Oklahoma City locations. Many of these housing additions provide specialized amenities such as northwest Oklahoma City's Rosecreek which has a private golf course and aquatic park.
For the buyer who is able to fulfill their needs with an existing structure, the possibilities are endless. Homes in Oklahoma City range from historical to modern. Previously established neighborhoods, such as 30-year old Willow Creek Estates, are in high demand because they offer a large amount of square footage, neighborhood parks and swimming pools and they are a part of the Putnam City School District. Acreages can be found in the Piedmont and Deer Creek areas immediately surrounding Oklahoma City and also boast outstanding school systems. Often, livestock, such as horses, can be kept on the immediate property in these communities.
Oklahoma City covers 622 square miles, but is easily travelled. Interstates 35, 40 and 44 merge in Oklahoma City providing convenient interstate travel. 39thExpressway and Northwest Expressway allow for quick access to points east and west. The recently completed Kilpatrick turnpike connects all of the aforementioned roadways and is equipped with numerous access points around the north and west sides of Oklahoma City making cross-town travel a breeze.
The residents of Oklahoma City are as diverse as the housing. Both cowboys and corporate lawyers can be found watching professional baseball or basketball at the Ford Center or the Bricktown Ballpark. These venues are in the historic Bricktown District located in downtown Oklahoma City. Musical entertainment, dining, parades and festivals are available year round off the Bricktown Canal. Trails around Lake Hefner in central Oklahoma City provide walkers, runners and cyclists with 5 miles of space to exercise.
Oklahoma City has long been known as a location where a lot of house is available for little money. Because the Oklahoma City housing market tends to be recession proof, the foreclosure rate is holding at a steady 34th place in the United States. There are so many deals to be made in both the new and existing home markets in Oklahoma City; the question is more a matter of which one?
