Writing articles as an affordable Internet marketing method

Writing articles is a great way to get noticed on the Internet. Consequently, writing articles and creating a following for your articles is a good way to gain interest for your business and your product or service. Writing articles is quickly becoming not only an important Internet marketing method, but an affordable Internet marketing method. Here are some tips on how to use articles to increase your business:

1. Write interesting articles about topics related to your business. Make your articles 400 to 600 words at the most and write them in a manner that is easy to read. This generally means using short paragraphs and plenty of white space to make the article look appealing to the eye. When choosing topics and writing the articles, make them informative and friendly. Yes, the topics should follow the general theme of the business, but don't make them into advertisements. Instead, write the articles to give your customers or clients more information. Make your customers glad they deal with you because you give them service, plus extra information.

2. It's important to let your customers know that you have posted a new article. Collect names and email addresses of your customers as you deal with them and begin to make a distribution list. Send a notice to those on your distribution each time you post a new article on your blog. Encourage them to comment on your articles and start a discussion on line. Soon you will find that your customers will look forward to your articles.

3. Eventually, your customers will begin to send more customers your way. If they don't, there are ways to increase your following on your own. One of the ways is through putting interesting content on your blog and making it profitable for people to visit your site. For example, you can run a survey that might be interesting to readers. You can also run contests and give-always that will bring in extra customers.

4. Twitter and social media sites are also good places to help you increase the attention that your articles and your website receive. Whenever you write a new article, announce on Twitter where they can find it. Articles will draw the attention of people on the web whereas an advertisement will not. Therefore, your articles may be a better marketing tool than advertisements.

5. You can also string your articles together and make a newsletter out of them. Instead of sending out an announcement to your distribution list for each article, send the newsletter to them once a month.
