I am a dog lover. Actually, more broad then that - I am an animal enthusiast. I have grown up with a family beagle, and all the miscellaneous pets you have when you are younger. Now, as I have gotten older, I officialy have my first dog! I purchased a Jack-A-Bee (a perfect mix of a beagle and jack russel terrier) in November of last year and have been on a puppy high ever since! I was researching vets online for my new four-legged friend, and all the different types of dog insurance. My previous beagle had many tumors that had eventually led to cancer. His vet bills were astronomical, and I was trying to keep some regulation on the costs if at all possible.
There are so many different types of animal insurance. There was so much to compare, and the idea is still so new. I came across Banfield and was immediately very interested in their wellness plans. They have them for puppies and kittens, and then they have them for older animals as well. I was a little apprehensive that the offices were located in the back of Petsmart stores.
Could a veterinarian really be legitimate if it was just a section in an animal superstore? After talking to them and seeing all the benefits of the wellness plan I went for it.I took Jack to Banfield the first week I had him. Jack has been a healthy little fellow ever since. When I first got him, I was told he had his first set of shots. The doctors there were so helpful and just went ahead and did them again just to be safe. They were so informative and answered every single one of my questions- believe me, I had a lot.
Many animal owners joke about the fact that they tell their animals they are on the way to the park. Almost always- dogs hate the vet. Granted, Jack is a little more hyper than most, he absolutely loves it there. The people are so amazing and nice and I have never thought twice about the doctor being apart of Petsmart. When we go there for other things at the store, Jack takes off towards the vet, he can't think of anything else. They have been very gentle with Jack, he has had a painful yeast infection in his ears and has even been neutered at their office. I have never had a complaint and would recommend their services to anyone.
I would suggest to anyone who is interested to go ahead and get enrolled on a wellness plan. The enrollment fee is less than $100 and then a minimal fee is deducted from your bank account every month. This has covered everything with Jack except for prescription medicines (heartworm, ear cream, etc.). I am a firm believer in Banfield, and would not think twice about taking a pet there again.
