Being as it is that no idea is truly unique, books and movies lend us the fodder for imagination and creativity.
I, for one, know that every time I read Pride and Prejudice new thoughts spring to mind and I immediately want to sit down and write such terrific poetry about love that people would be in awe of the immensity of feeling and passion in it.
Of course, the act of sitting down and writing flowery verses about love is the hardest part and it often gets put aside for the more common every day tasks.
Poetry is born of great feelings, whether it is love or fear or sadness, it does not matter because if you are feeling it and have the courage to write it down, then it is important.
I'm sure while writing her greatest works, Emily Dickinson would say that her feelings were born out of great feeling and that her words were in some way influenced by what she was reading at the time.
So as you are sitting down preparing to write some exquisite piece of poetry, return your mind to the time when you felt the most passion, the most feeling and go with it.
Take the time to relive those moments that changed your life or your views of life and indulge. From this will come the most passionate words and the best poetry.
