TWELVE BELOW ZERO
Twelve below zero!
It's cold out today!
Too cold to go out!
Too cold I say!
Steam from the chimney
rises high in the air!
I will not go out!
I just wouldn't dare!
The snow is all crunchy.
The puddles are ice.
Stay in where it's warm!
Better take my advice!
I don't mean to be grouchy,
but this cold never ends!
We need some warm sunshine!
Start praying my friends.
I know Spring is coming.
But no signs have I seen.
Please send me a robin,
or something that's green!
What do I hear?
A heat wave has come?
Two above zero
is making me hum!
The warm sun is shining.
I can almost smell Spring!
I'm taking a walk.
I will check everything!
The puddles are melting.
The snow doesn't crunch!
The crocuses rising
will make a fine bunch.
I'm feeling much better!
The sun makes me smile.
I know Spring is coming
in just a short while!

Poetry: Being trapped
by Terrence Aym
The Box
Trapped in this box,
With a wheelless car.
Trapped in this box,
With a shattered star.
Trapped in this box,
It seems awfully
I thought you should know
That I don't know where to go
My heart is torn in two
And no, it's not because of you
I'm trapped
When we were together, I felt like I was trapped
I worked so hard to hide it, all my strength was sapped
Slowly, I felt myself
The page won't load
Some ad banner somewhere isn't coming up and the page just won't load or something else isn't right
Under the ice
the water is so cold it burns
with illusory warmth.
Under the ice
I have become mere flotsam,
caught and held
