It's bad enough that people who don't have the 'perfect' body image are looked down on and made fun of. Now people who are overweight are treated like they're a disease, like they're not even human. The very suggestion that obese people should have to pay more to travel is so discriminatory. What makes people think they have the right to treat obese people like there's something wrong with them or like they're not as good as the rest of us?
I don't mind people who want to be as healthy as they want to be. I think it's great, but looking down on people who don't think exactly the same way they do or look exactly the same way they do is so immature and wrong. People are going way too far with this health craze. It's one thing for an individual to make a decision to watch their weight and try to eat a healthy diet. But so many health nuts nowadays act like being obese is a criminal act. It's absolutely ridiculous! What if someone suggested that black people have to pay more to travel? Or hispanics? Or any other minority? The only difference here is that this discrimination is based solely on someone's looks and not their race, but it is discrimination.
Yes, obesity can lead to health problems, but obesity itself is not a disease. The only people who consider obesity to be a disease are selfish people who want everyone to look and behave just like them. It is amazing how many people still think it's okay to treat people differently because of the way they look. And since when is one person's health anybody else's busniness. And now people think it's okay to discriminate based on a person's health? That's outrageous! Even if a person is unhealthy, treating them badly doesn't help anything. It's just plain wrong! It infuriates me when people talk about passing bills and making rules that punish people who don't meet their standards. What happened to freedom? You know, people being allowed to make their own decisions for themselves and believe in what they want to. And I have news for the health freaks that think this kind of stuff is a good idea: The whole world doesn't want to join your stupid health club! Discriminating isn't going to make people agree with you any more than they already do.
Charging obese people more to travel won't solve any problems. It will simply lead to more discrmination against obese people and that's the last thing we need right now.
