Poetry: The tragedy of love

by Syd Thompson

Created on: April 27, 2009

One at a Time

Shhh...

and we'll close our eyes

listen, dear, for your lullaby.

Those out there won't care

won't dare to hold a fair

case against you.

You, dear, are everything

they fear.

Shhh....

and we'll hollow out our minds

think, dear, everything is fine

Those of us out here have a sign

that'll bind us, - rewind

within you.

Cause, you, dear, are everything

they fear.

As for myself...

I'm only the tear

you never shed.

So, Shhh....

and you'll close your eyes

and listen, dear, for your lullaby

The time has come for all of us

to die

One by one and

only one at a time.
