Nearly four million people have lost their job within the United States of America during the last six months. The unemployment rate is rising and there is no real end in sight for the depression that is taking place within the United States of America and many other places on Earth.
Millions of people are in danger of becoming homeless while all of those new jobs that our new President has promised to the people within our Country have yet to be created. People who cannot properly support themselves cannot afford to rent or own any kind of home, no matter how cheap the selling price is or how cheap the rent might be.
Sonoma Country is not the only place within the United States of America where tens of thousands of people are under great stress just to earn enough money to feed themselves. So too, that is why Real Estate prices continue to fall. Desperate people are doing whatever they can just to remain healthy and alive, including committing criminal acts for the money required to continue to provide food and shelter for themselves and their families.
Instead of giving hundreds of billions of dollars to big business and those failing financial institutions, our tax dollars should be spent for putting people to work in the construction of free housing for the homeless or soon to be homeless, no matter where those homeless might be within our Country. What real good are a whole lot of empty reposessed properties doing for the homeless or any other person within our society? In order to find a decent job people need an address where they can be contacted by a future employer. Within our so called modern society every person should have a place to live. Every person should have food to eat and an equal opportunity to be successful.
No matter where they are, homeless people are truly deprived of an equal opportunity to support themselves if they do not have a mailing address that is not a P.O. Box or a homeless shelter. I wonder, how many small business owners are in danger of being homeless? My last trip out shopping revealed to me dozens of empty stores that once where places of business for many self-employed people. Those who still have a job can now find a whole lot of bargains within the retail stores and the restaurants that are still open for business.
The true cause of the housing crisis is the fact that people need honest jobs that will provide a living wage. If not, housing prices will continue to fall and more homes will be offered for sale. Tell our President to put an end to money given to those businesses who continue to take away our jobs and then hire Foreigners within Foreign Coutries. From my point of view, job outsourcing should be against the law and those businesses who continue to hire Foreigners within Foreign Countries should be barred from doing business within the United States of America. So too, each of the products and the services that come from Foreign Countries should be barred from crossing over the border and into our Country until such time when the unemployment rate within our Country is less than 2%.
