There should be a multi-pronged strategy to try and win the hearts and minds of most of the people in Iran and possibly eliminate the radical Islamic rule. If I were the President, I would make a special broadcast that will be covered by all the media outlets; even the Islamic media. I would make the broadcast on a Saturday morning which would be Saturday night in Iran. That means the majority of the population that has TV would possibly view the broadcast. Here's how the boradcast may go:
"Good evening. For too long, Iran and America have been enemies which is unacceptable. We don't hate Iranians and due to religious freedom in this country, we respect Islam as one of the great religions in the world. The conflict has been between our governments and could have been avoided if we had helped you become a democracy after the Shah was deposed. I feel ashamed that our CIA helped that man become a tyrant and kept him in power.

Instead of going to the Russians for technology, we would like to become your partner. We don't oppose nuclear energy. In order to wean the world off of a reliance on oil, we will need more nations ready to use nuclear power for energy production. Of course that will mean monitoring on our part to make sure you're in compliance with non-proliferation treaties. But if you are open to us, we can form a bond of trust that can't be broken.
"We are not asking you to loosen your standards of morality. We just want you to not do things that support Satan's agenda. He hates the Jews and wants them destroyed. Does not your government also hate the Jews? Satan approves of murder. Does not you nation approve of killing those it feels have violated various laws as if Allah is too weak to impose judgement on his own? I admit that many of our laws are
