Why some people are afraid of dieing, and some are not?
"Life is 10% of what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it." (John Maxwell).
So this much is clear that the title of my article is indeed a vital question which no one has much time to give it a thought frankly speaking. And half of my task is over by writing such a quotation it answers many unanswered questions. But then let's understand the medical definition of Death, according to the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State laws 1980 formulated the Uniform Determination of Death Act it states
"An individual who has sustained either
(1) Irreversible cessation of all functions of circulatory and respiratory functions.
(2) Or irreversible cessation of all functions of the entire brain, including the brain stem is dead. A determination of death must be made in accordance with accepted medical standards". This definition was approved by the American Medical Association in 1980 and by the American Bar Association in 1981.
Now the question arises that why on earth some people are afraid of dieing and some are not there has to be a logical reason for it or let's say the psychological reasons for it:
(1) Depression: "Is an illness that involves the body, mood and thoughts, which affects the way a person eats and sleeps, the way one feels about oneself, and the way how one thinks about things. People with a depressive disease cannot merely "pull themselves together" and get better, and are not afraid to die which leads to suicidal attempts many times, there are other factors also leading to depression that are:
(a) Financial crises
(b) Death of a loved one
(c) Constant failure in trying to achieve something.
(d) Divorce/separation: On this I would like to make a personal comment that I have been divorced for over 3 years now and if you ask me personally speaking I would not be afraid to die the reason being that at the moment I don't have anyone to live for (as in my life partner) but if tomorrow I get married and I am well settled in my home (few ups and downs are not to be mentioned here) I would think at least once if not twice in choosing to die. Because then I will be having someone too love and be loved in return if you are living just for yourself then life becomes a routine not a reason to live for someone, you basically become careless in how you think and care about yourself.
(e) Accidents: God for bid sudden accidents which make a person bed ridden want the person
