Putting sunscreen on your children is just as important as anything else you do for them. If you don't put sunscreen on your children they will get sun damage! Not they might get sun damage they will. Without sunscreen your children will age faster, be unhealthier than children who wear sunscreen, and your children will most likely get some form of cancer when they are older. So sunscreen is very essential. I'm going to write a guide on how you should use sunscreen for your children.
SUNSCREEN BY AGE- Different sunscreens are better for different ages. I'm gonna do a mini guide by age and how you should deal with the sun.
Babies- Babies are extremely sensitive. They make special sunscreens for babies because they have the most sensitive skin. DON'T USE UNDER SPF 50 ON A BABY! They burn super fast and anything under SPF 50 won't do nothing. Make sure your baby is wearing a hat and other clothes to also keep from the sun. Don't let a baby'sbare skin be out in the sun more than an hour even with sunscreen. Make sure your baby is in shade as much as possible and make sure they are getting plenty of water. Don't be stingy with the sunscreen lather it and make sure you don't miss anywhere.
1-4 Years Old- It is important to put a lot of sunscreen on children at these early ages. Their skin is sensitive and burns just as fast as babies; so their skin should be treated as a babies. Make sure your kids aren't out in the direct sunlight more than 2 hours even with sunscreen. USE AT LEAST SPF 50 ON CHILDREN 1-4! Really anything less won't do anything. If you are taking them swimming use a higher SPF because water magnifies UV rays! Make sure they are wearing cover ups and hats to give extra protection. Put on a lot of sunscreen and put it everywhere. Make sure to reapply sunscreen after getting out of water.
5-9 Years Old- These are the times that real skin damage can take place. At these ages your kids are sun bunnies; they are going to be in the sun constantly! USE AT LEAST SPF 60 ON CHILDREN THIS AGE! Since they will be baking in the sun constantly the more sunscreen and higher SPF the better. Remember to keep your kids covered up with hats and cover ups. When your kids are in the water use a higher SPF and reapply sunscreen after swimming. Make sure you don't miss a spot on your kids or else they will get charred.
10-17 Years Old- Well these children are older but making them use sunscreen is really important. At these ages they will fight having to use sunscreen. They
