Wichita Kansas has many quiet and comfortable housing areas where one might wish to raise a family, or even retire. It has a mixture of different types of neighborhoods old and new. Some of the newer areas feature private pools for it's community, and some even have fishing ponds. If you are looking for newer affordable homes on the West side, the Socora Village might peak your interest. Many of these homes were built in the late 90's, and feature a beautiful interior design with vaulted ceilings and dining area bay windows. Further West towards Goddard you will find a mixture of newer housing areas, as well as established neighborhoods and homes with beautiful and unique architecture, many equipped with large backyards and impeccable landscapes.
If you have children, you might head North to the ever-popular Maize school district area. The district begins pretty close to the middle of the city, so you have a wide range of choices, with newer homes as well as some established properties. Here, and a few miles North are housing areas that are smack dab in the middle of convenience, very close to the Sedgwick County Park and Zoo. Up and down 21st street you have a myriad of restaurants and shopping areas. On the corner of 21st and Maize you will find the New Market Square, which includes a Super Walmart, Super Target, Borders Bookstore, and many many others. If there is anything you might need, from diapers to the newest best seller, you will not be disappointed.
Do you want a little peace and tranquility? You might consider heading out Northwest towards Andover. This residential area sports some of the biggest and most beautiful homes in all of Wichita. Many also come with a hefty price tag. But if you still want the peace without spending all those bucks, check out South/Southwest Wichita. For a few miles South of Cessna -one of the United States largest aircraft service centers- you will find a mixture of newer and older neighborhoods that feature a variety of quality homes that could fit nearly anyone's budget.
