Suddenly
the road narrows
forcing me to confront the possibility
I have traveled too far
in the wrong direction
Yet this meandering
along a less familiar path
suits my nature
I must flow
where earth's everchanging landscape takes me
In all truthfulness
the pimping ideals of a society lost
in its own grandeur
become irrelevant in comparison
to the prospect of
new discoveries
To be held aloft,
praised for buying in
to the mass misconception
that conformity takes precedence over individuality
is, at best, a limp compensation
for the loss of self
incurred in such ventures
These restrictive narrow passages
that threaten to fetter creative endeavours,
are they simply opportunities in disguise?
Warnings
to take care, to be not like the hare
but steady as the turtle
who, in his infinite wisdom
finds his way
A scarlet sky turns black behind me
darkness looms large on the horizon
I push forward into the night
without expectation
but with eyes opened wide
in readiness
for whatever lies ahead
