Poetry: Learning to fly

by Kevin C. Carr

Created on: January 30, 2007   Last Updated: May 14, 2007

To fly above the clouds,

and breathe the air that is free,

is all the winds of doubt,

need to makes us mortals see,

That nothing is what it is,

until we know our hearts,

and open our minds to his,

will all we hope to start,

A new age in this world,

the power of love from hate,

to loose the sparks of stars,

upon this land called home,

and feel the weight of Mars,

pull us to the sky and roam,

Throughout the journey of life,

with open arms and unshut eyes,

for all those willing to be,

the "ones" we all are here to spy,

to shoot and spray and bleed,

for each one we will die,

over and over and over again,

it's love that knows the lie,

that laws are meant to stain,

and undo what He has done,

to make us one and whole,

with all our fellow man,

it's what we have to roll,

inside our eternal souls,

until the down of man.
