Reflections: Does it have to be new age or organized religion?

My brother being very much involved in the catholic church and beliefs believes that I have sinned because I have tattoos and piercings. He told me that I mutilated God's creation. He is not very understanding of new ways, to him the catholic way is the right, and the only right way.

My response to this belief and attitude:
I have three tattoos one incorporates angle wings into the design, one is a cherub which is a baby angle, and the other is a symbol that means friends. Okay, so its not like I have devils, demons, and evil tattooed.

Ears with a post going through the lobe is a piercing and not looked at as a sin, so why other piercings?
A part of the community may not like, agree, or understand tattoos and piercings but does that make them wrong or a sin?
I recognize that same God as a catholic, Lutheran, etc. The word of God comes out of the same book, and the same ten commandments are followed. My church preaches the word differently then the catholic but it's still the SAME words and meanings, my church has a live band sing songs that you can put your whole heart into and sing it loud where as catholic uses hymns and an organ. Does that make my worship wrong? No.
Just because I decided to put art on my body and not in my home doesn't make me a sinner. The new age's way of worship is getting young adults like me excited again about God and what he is doing where the catholic for ME wasn't enough. In this day and time so many young families, young adults, teens, and kids are more involved that I can even remember.

So I figure that if this new age trend stuff is bring people back to the light and glory of God how can that be a sin?
