You would think that women speak a different language than men. When women express the importance of their wants, needs, and desires to men, the words seem to go in one ear and out the other. A woman could express her greatest passions and fears, her dreams and ambitions, and a man will simply sit wide-eyed wondering what she's talking about. But once she mentions anthing about sex, he never misses a word.
How can men understand women better? They must first learn to listen, and then hear what women have to say. Women are seldom shy about sharing what's on their minds, but men quickly lose interest if it isn't something that they care about, or may be benefit from. Women do not expect men to pretend to have an interest in all things feminine, but they do appreciate when a man listens to the things important to them.
A women wants to feel like a queen, and few things make them happier than when a man hears them. Women have a voice, and they want to be heard. They want respect for their potential, and to feel like an equal in their partnerships. They don't mind playing the supporting cast occassionally, but would like to sometimes take the lead. And they want men to see them for who they are, and not only for their assets.
Women like to feel special. Too often, men make them feel special only when there is something special that they want. Caring about a woman is more than just caring about her physical attributes, but also in who she is as an individual. Her thoughts, feelings, goals, and aspirations are all important to her, and she wants them to be important to the man in her life as well.
Women have a need for attention. They don't have to feel like the most beautiful woman in the world, but do want to be the only woman in the world of the man who they love. She doesn't have to have every man see her, but likes to know that when she is with her man, that he sees no other woman. She wants to be paid attention to, and will often cry out for that attention if she feels like she isn't getting enough of it.
One of the biggest reasons why men have a difficult time understanding women is because they often disregard most of what women say. Men tune into those things that matter most to them, and filter out the rest. They hear the things that they want to hear, and turn a deaf ear to what they consider insignificant.
A man will never miss hearing when it's time to eat, or when the ball game is on, or when his cell phone is buzzing in the next room, even if it's on vibrate.
