Shore It Up

Every once in a while
A wave comes along
Rocks the steady boat
Every once in a while
A storm comes along
And sweeps it all away
Every once in a while
A curse slams down
And crushes what was
Every once in a while
A shooting pain strikes
Numbing and baffling
Every once in a while
There comes a time
When peace of mind
Lies shattered
When pictures of yore
Are cobbled together
And hope is all that's left
Hang in there
The tide will recede
All will be well
Shore up that boat
