Located in the heart of the Inland Empire, Riverside is the perfect place for those who want to be at the heart of what California is famous for. Nestled between the bustling cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, it is a short drive to both, and it's proximity to the beach cities is great for those who want to enjoy the beauty of the ocean. Palm trees dot the landscape everywhere you go, and with the great shopping and architecture around the historical Mission Inn district who wouldn't want to live here?

Well, now may be your chance. The housing crisis has opened up many opportunities to own a home in Riverside. But where do you start looking? The neighborhood that seems to be the best investment for most buyers right now, is the La Sierra district. With several schools in the area and shopping a short drive to the Galleria at Tyler, La Sierra balances downtown bustle with quiet suburban life. Most of the homes here are small ranches, or larger colonials, and with area foreclosures, they are most definitely priced to sell.

For the more discriminating buyer, the Victoria Road and Canyon Crest districts offer beauty and class, while being wonderfully located. The feel of these districts is quieter than others in Riverside, and a drive around these areas offers some of the best scenery to be had in Riverside. The houses are larger here, many being between four and seven bedrooms, and sit on sizable gated yards. The trees in this area are lush and mature, and hills roll gently down to the citrus groves, lending the neighborhood a familiar orange scent. Prices here are considerably higher than in other parts of the city, but it is well worth it for the long term investor. These are properties that will never lose their value.

But don't let these neighborhoods be your only consideration. The neighborhoods of Riverside all have their distinct vibe, and a quick ride around the city is sure to reveal one you like. From the grungy city vibe of the Arlanza district, to the small stucco cottages and manicured lawns near Rubidoux, not to mention the artsy, studio lofts above the shops downtown. There truly is a home for everyone in Riverside. So, take your time to explore, and sample the work of the locally famous Mission Inn restaurant. I can promise you won't be disappointed.

So if your mind longs to live where palm trees grow, and the sweet scent of citrus drifts on the night breeze, think of Riverside. If you want to live in a city that celebrities like the Reagans, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and the Osbournes, have come to for refreshment, you need not look any further. The perfect balance of city and country is right here in the Inland Empire, right here in Riverside.
