On a late night, I felt exhausted
I turned on the light and decided
There I stood, staring into the mirror
That is when in shock I saw with horror
That not only did time pass me by
I realized that my youth said goodbye
My eyes were now crowned by crow's feet
Rosacea made my cheeks as red as beets
My dark hair turned silver over the years
I now feel old and close to tears
The energy of my smile was now gone
A tired look showed my wish to be done
Once I felt ready to go at all times
I can't move as graciously as a mime
My youth slipped away as a thief
Nothing left for me besides grief
Now my back aches with every move
Not so long ago I had something to prove
Today was a day of terror
As I was scared, looking in the mirror

He's always been there hiding
whenever I took time to see.
He always seemed to grow
