Attempts to find a common date for Easter

A common date for Easter is going to be a hard sell to those who have long held their ways of determining when Easter will fall. Getting people to change is never easy. It also seems kind of funny to me (strange funny, not ha-ha funny) that the Christian groups who do not agree on how to determine Easter are not upset that some of their determinations are based on pagan rituals or that the figuring appears to be somewhat convoluted and bizarre.

Easter is mainly figured out by a large part of the Western Christian world, including Catholics and most Protestant religions, by choosing the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Vernal Equinox. In the Orthodox world, Pascha (or Easter) would not fall before Passover, since the Last Supper was the Passover (my reasoning - not necessarily theirs). That doesn't seem to stop the "western" groups. It also has something to do with Julian calendars and Gregorian calendars. And you can't forget the Jewish lunar calendars!

Having followed all three disciplines at one time or another, what I have come to feel is that they are all correct. Each "transmission" or faith has its own energy and if you are following one of them, then you simply need to be true to that transmission. When I changed from the "western" way of determining Easter and following the path leading up to it, I was afraid that I would miss something. I discovered that, in staying true to the new discipline, I experienced just as powerful a movement of energy as I did in the earlier one.

This brings me to the broader idea that possibly none of the religions are "right" and none of them are "wrong". They're ALL right, and they're all wrong. What matters is where you put your faith and what transmission you are following and that you don't mix transmissions.

It has always saddened me that religions have been so divisive, that horrific things have been done "in the name of God." Those religions that I have studied all point to the same basic moral and ethical ideals. I used to think that if everyone simply followed (REALLY followed) whichever religion they professed that the world would be a better place. That made more sense to me than people killing each other over either what they called God or how they worshipped God. It would be great if all the religions that celebrate Easter (Pascha) would decide to celebrate it at the same time - the energy would be wonderful and cohesive and very healing.
