First off you really only have one soulmate. A lot of people think you have more than one. In actuality sometimes what we think is a soulmate is actually one of many kindred Souls.
A soulmate is someone who is the mate of your being. They have the same electronic blueprint as you. Sometimes we may think that we are in relationship with someone that is a soulmate but may not be.

This is because there are many factors that come into play when you start making love with someone. Making love with someone is a multi layered experience and sometimes energies between people can become enmeshed. True soulmate relationships are actually quite rare. Some people say that your soulmate is just with you on other levels and that in your physical reality you will never find them. This is not always true because we are in the times where we are waking up. What is hidden is being exposed. The reason some people think that their soulmate is only on the other levels is because for the most part we have been operating from more of a personality perspective rather than an integration with who we are on those other levels of being. When we start to integrate those other levels of our being with our physical being we gain a whole different perspective and make different choices in our lives.

Soulmates are a match for each other on all levels of being. They are like a mirror image of each other. Their issues in life will be the same but they will be coming at those issues from a totally different angle than their soulmate. This is why they are very magnetic to each other. On meeting they can trigger much for each other.

If one has a deep heart wound the other usually does too. They are each other's greatest hope when their intent is to be all of who they are. They are in communication all the time. Most of the time this is unconscious.

This is a relationship that operates from Oneness. This is not always apparent though, depending on the state of consciousness of both people. One will be more awake with the feminine principle of life and the other more awake with the male principle.

If they are out of balance with or in denial of their sexual essence they will deflect each other. When they come back into balance integrating the intent of their Soul's purpose with their physical reality they are both leaders that have positive impact on others.

Whether they are together in the same physical environment or not they work together with the same vision for manifestation. The more physically integrated they become with their Soul's purpose the more consciously they are able to communicate telepathically with each other.

They are each other's greatest champions as their hearts' wounding becomes healed and they give themselves the opportunity to follow their hearts' desire. Soulmates at the highest levels of manifestation are in service manifesting a new world.
