There are many reasons that can cause us to regret. It is not possible to live a life without regrets. Usually regret is caused by how we are disappointed by others. Our lives are linked to others. It is not possible to think and act about things that only concern us. We are interdependent and interlinked to the people around us. It is something which is beyond our control. When we do not have enough experience, there are people and situations we will encounter in life that can cause us to make poor choices.
This can in turn affect us mainly in our career, job and relationships. There is both good and bad we have to deal with. In spite of our best efforts, we can face regret, in a world that contain greed, selfishness, hatred, evil, and jealously. Sometimes, the more we try to correct things, we are blamed for things we didn't do. People can turn our world upside down and make us lose perspective in our lives. When in the midst of a crisis, it is hard to understand how to remove ourselves from a corrupted situation. After time has elapsed and we look back, then we are able to analyze why and how we made mistakes.
On the other hand, if we believe in love, goodness, happiness and peace, then we can use our experiences to overcome difficulties. Progress is not made in life without suffering, humiliation, failures, and mistakes. In the world around us, we are being affected, not only by what we are, and what we know, but also by the people who are around us, determines a lot how our lives will turn out. It takes time to learn and experience life, to know what mistakes we have made, and how we could have prevented it.
Painful experiences can make us imbalance in our thinking, and suffocate our attempts to free ourselves. Before we know it, time has passed and has prevented us from making sound decisions. The older we get, the more we are able to understand our mistakes. It can give us experience and can also hinder us. We can face a lot of regret, when we see large opportunities for growth and renewal, and are hindered by age, to make progress or advance ourselves.
However, we can use the strength gained from these unpleasant circumstances to find new opportunities to overcome regrets. The fact that we are able to admit our mistakes, regardless of the reason, means we have looked back and learn important lessons. Even though, we may be hurt by regret, we will not be where we are without the mistakes we made. Mistakes can be stepping stones to evolve our life. We do not need to sink into regret.
