I could have touched your hand that day,
Could have asked you out to talk;
Could have swallowed down my fear that day,
As we went for a walk.
I could have told you everything
That's locked inside my chest.
I could have revealed everything
And put affections to the test.
And maybe yes, and maybe no,
Or something else would pass your lips;
But either way I would now know
From whose glass your grand heart sips.
But never did, and never will.
The light of day, my hope will never see.
I'm done. I'm finished. I've had my fill.
No more of loves not meant to be.
