Five Points of Light

Shooting Star! Shocking!
Did you see it fly across the sky?
Awestruck I stare wondering
if it could mean something . . .
Has God pointed with a star
in some direction far
away, or, am I a single witness
to light's spontaneous death?

Taking heart in the night,
I choose to feel special
in seeing the light.
Believing in God's compass
my way I will find.
I know a truth! We all will die
as we shoot across the universe
spectacular in our own velvet night sky.
