A day at the park should be an experience to remember. The parks in the Hudson Valley definitely give you an experience of a lifetime. From swimming to playing to embracing wildlife, these parks offer a lot for the entire family to experience. Bear Mountain, Harriman, James Baird, Lake Taghkanic, Tallman, and Taconic State Parks are the best family friendly parks located in the Hudson Valley of New York. Each park adds its own unique spice to life.

Bear Mountain State Park is the largest and most family-friendly park in the Hudson Valley. This park is home to Trailside Museums & Zoo. This park has an animal-themed carousel that the entire family will love to take a ride on. On the recreational side, they offer playing fields, hiking, a swimming pool, an ice skating rink, paddle boats, and many more activities to engage in. Picnic areas and lodging are also available.

Harriman State Park is the second largest park and you will find many fun and exciting family activities to participate in. Three beautiful beaches line this park. There are several campgrounds located at this park where you will find modern accommodations. With large playing fields, recreational activities are limitless. This park is also home to a variety of wildlife, so don't miss the opportunity to see them up close and personal.

James Baird State Park is a great place for some family fun. The fun is endless with so many choices to choose from. You can play basketball, tennis, volleyball, and more at the sports complex. With huge playing fields and playgrounds, you will find play time a thrill. This park also has golf and cross-country skiing. The large picnic pavilions are great for a family gathering.

Lake Taghkanic State Park is another on of the Hudson Valley's family friendly parks. You can enjoy playing at the playground or swimming at one of its two beaches. You can also engage in many sporting activities including baseball, biking, volleyball and more. There are many places in this park to camp, vacation, and have a picnic. Boating is also available.

Tallman Mountain State Park offers an array of activities for families to explore. With tennis courts, playing fields, and playgrounds, you're bound to find something that excites you and the family. Take a dive in the swimming pool or challenge your family to a race on the running track. Picnic facilities are available for you to have a picnic or even a cookout.

Taconic State Park is home to the Iron Works museum, where you came explore the iron industry. This park offers swimming at the beach and cabins for an overnight stay. Recreational Programs are available for you to have a sporting good time. You can also enjoy ice skating during the winter months. Picnic areas equipped with pavilions and grills are available for you to utilize.
