Colorado Springs Epitomizes America the Beautiful

Standing atop of Pikes Peak mountain, Katherine Lee Bates did a slow circle turn and feasted her eyes upon a bustling turn-of-the-century hamlet known as Colorado Springs, Co. The sun, majesty and beauty of this valley area set her heart afire and she wrote a love poem to the United States entitled "America the Beautiful." To live and work in Colorado Springs is to catch a glimpse of the best of America every day.

With more sunny days a year than San Diego can muster, Colorado Springs offer a pantheon of incredible outdoor living opportunities, family fun activities and hip nightspots that fulfill the needs of its more than 500,000 residents. It offers hiking, biking, Western and modern art, world-class restaurants and luxury hotels. This is no shrinking suburb. Colorado Springs has a unique culture and community all its own.

And with more than 7,000 homes for sell in the region, there's ample opportunity to move to this beautiful city.

Central Colorado Springs includes a vibrant downtown scene. This with its eclectic mix of stylish new architecture and renovated turn-of-the-century buildings feature lofts and businesses. These mix use real estate holdings provide a beautiful and comfortable amount of residential, business and cultural spaces. Your first stop is the Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region. COPPER provides visitors and residents with events, news and information about the arts, culture and music scene in Colorado Springs. Many of these lofts are now open for business as the downtown has some in foreclosure and ready to be purchased at a hot price, especially in the Lowell Street Project area and north Tejon street.

ravel north out of the downtown you'll eventually hit Colorado College. This private school began by the city's founder William J. Palmer sits smack down in the middle of residential area and green space because that's the way Palmer wanted it. Colorado College with its newly completed Corner Stone Arts Center, brings to town some of the best minds in literature, arts, music, dance and politics. Just beyond the college is the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center which is one of the top arts centers in the country.

This central part of the city including downtown, Colorado College and the Old North End, is the most coveted to live in. It's 300 or so listings range from a $4 million 8,000 square foot home in the Old North End to a $64,000 studio condo.
