Released in 2008 Battlefield: Bad Company was the second foray into the consoles for the Battlefield series. The story is that you play as Preston Marlowe a new replacement to the 222nd Army Battalion B Company or more commonly "Bad Company" after being sent there for joyriding in Army helicopters. After a few battles one of Preston's comrades Terrence Sweetwater had discovered a mercenary's corpse that happened to be in possession of a bar of gold. With the discovery of even more gold off of the mercenaries bodies one thought came through their minds or at least Haggard's mind: there is money to be made and as we all know money equals happiness. After that Haggard filled with greed single-handedly invades the nearby neutral country of Serdaristan with the rest of his squad chasing after him. Faced with reality of facing a court martial by the Army the squad continues forward and so our journey begins for B Company's search for riches.

Pro's:

Story! For the first time in the series history Battlefield: Bad Company has some sort of single player story instead of that mode being used as training for the multiplayer mode.

Interesting Characters. As a by product for the improved singleplayer mode Battlefield: Bad Company has very memorable characters such as the tired squad leader Sargent Redford who is only serving in B-Company as a way to shorten his service in the army so he can retire, Terrence Sweetwater who the essential computer nerd that was sent to B-Company for uploading a computer virus to a secured computer network and my personal favorite the pyromaniac George Gordon Haggard Jr. that was sent to B-Company for blowing up his base's weapons cache.

It's pretty. The Frostbite engine flexes it's muscles as nearly every thing is almost fully destructible, making the player change their tactics against large foes such as armored vehicles. War is fun! Unlike many war games that came before it Battlefield: Bad Company doesn't take itself to seriously. This vibe is felt though out the whole game to the funny characters right down to the smiley face tagged grenades and the promotional videos for the game that poke fun at many of it's competitors.

Cons:

I can't find many flaws in this game that I would consider noteworthy for a review I would say the multiplayer but of that has been fixed by Electronic Arts.

Overall I would rate this game a 8 out of 10 it's good, very good so good in fact I hope they make a sequel they did leave it open in the ending after all.
