Detroit, Michigan offers a lot of fun activities for kids in the summer, winter, spring, and the fall. On a rainy day, the most important thing is to stay dry. The attractions below offer ways of having fun even if the weather is rainy. You will notice that a couple of the attractions compliment the city's nickname, which is "The Motor City".
1. Detroit Science Center

Price: Admission prices start at $12.95/adult and 11.95/senior or child. This price includes admission to hands-on exhibits and one theater. Children under the age of two are free.
This amazing science center is home to the Chrysler IMAX Dome Theatre and an amazing planetarium. You will also find the Star Trek Exhibition where you can see shows or explore spaceships. This center also offers activities that teach you about eating right, exercising, and maintaining a healthy heart.

Price: Prices start at $8/hour/lane and are based on time of day and day of the week. Shoe rental is $2/pair.
This illuminating bowling alley is packed with fun. Watch the lanes glow as the lights dim. They have great food and a live DJ. They also offer many party packages that might interest you when celebrating a special occasion.
3. Motown Historical Museum

Price: $10/adults and $8/senior or child 12 and under
Motown Records, started by the legendary Berry Gordy, was home to many great music stars. The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross & The Supremes are just a few of the great acts that made history. Tours of this historical facility are offered daily. Individual and guided group tours are offered at this museum. The guided tours are recommended because they are narrated and walk you through the historical timeline of Motown.
