Armageddon is a ficticious rendering about the final battle of mankind. The Bible is a great book, but the book was written by people, not by God, with recollections about our beginnings, and in the case of Armageddon, our end. It is the memory, not the actual facts. Armageddon is from the Book of Revelations, that this mythical battle is said to be coming. Certain things will happen in the world to bring it about. "Wars and rumors of wars" do fill our daily television screes. There have been great battle throughout history.

For the people of the Indian Nation, Armageddon came on June 25, 1876, in the battle of the Little Big Horn. Though the Indians defeated Custer and his 7th Cavalry, it spelled ther death knell, and they were summarily, gathered and imprisoned or killed! Their "ground zero" is in Wounded Knee, South Dakota. The heart of this man was stolen by a gathering government, in a black veil of death.

The Biblical Armageddon is not so factual. It is hidden within the cost of words that are very vague to the open mind. In truth, it can mean anything, at an time, in any era of history. It may have already been fought. Many battles were Armageddon-like. The Germans had their Armageddon in July of 1943, at the battle of Kursk. 178,000 casualties for the Soviets, and almost 93,000 German casualties. It spelled the end of Hitler's madness. One battle, all that death, Armageddon!

The Biblical Armageddon, according to historical assumptions, will to be fought at a place in Israel called "the hill of Megiddo". Who knows whether that can become a reality or not? The Bible is written in puzzles of exaggerated claim, and mysticism. Well-meaning people think it is the word of God. If that were the case, God is one wealthy dude, and has a whole lot of back-royalties coming! Today people seem to want Armageddon to happen, and are steering philosophies in that direction. Armageddon is supposedly, the battle that will 'end the world'. I don't think so, but a nuclear battle would be devartating to all concerned. Let's hope this battle of fire and flames is just another urban legand from the book of life. Otherwise, it's batten down the hatches, close the door Mabel, and hold on to your britches!

Armageddon is a myth, wrapped in tangled words, that makes people stay fearful of their future, It does no one good to think with this weight hanging on us. We have to think of the fututre as something we can change for the better, and not be caught up in myths about the end of the world!
