Video game reviews: Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World's End (Wii)

OK let's have a show of hands here. Who remembers when, as this movie was coming out, Disney made it's... what... SECOND promise to stop making Pirates of the Caribbean movies. First it was they'll stop at two, then three... now, what, they're gearing up for a FOURTH movie (something about the Fountain of Youth or whatever). Yeah, well if Pirates are any indication then I guess we can't bank on Disney's word on anything can we... same goes for MARVEL, as they said HOW many Spider-Man movies they were going to make before stopping? THREE? FOUR? FIVE? I think it was three but they're planning on making two more for a total of five so, well... there you go.

So argh yargh arrr argh bleah. It's just not working. I'm not getting into the mood. Short of me bringing up my favorite Australian News Media Mogul Pirate Monger Rupert Murdoch, and his gang of truth pirates over at the S.S. FIXED NOISE I'm just not all that into pirates... well, maybe except that XXX Pirates movies I heard about, but that's it... but as we dread and fear the coming of Pirates of the Caribbean 4 (oh sure, there just had to be a 4th movie) you can't blame me for lacking any real motivation to talk up pirates, let alone THIS pirates. Why couldn't this have been the PSP version?!? That I liked. Not this.

Pirates of the Caribbean : At World's End. AKA whatever happened to Buena Vista Games? Last year's Dead Man's Hand was cranked out by BVG, but this year it looks like Disney Interactive is handling the release of the third and - well, when I first reviewed it it was the FINAL game... now it's just game three of four games... bleah. Cloned ad nauseum throughout all remaining present gen slash handhelds (except the GBA) and Wii consoles, all you have to do is pick a console (any console) and play... of course pointless to keep bringing that up since this is a Wii specific review I guess... so let's not go there no more and sally forth.

Starting off back in Dead Man's Hand (which I guess which had to be done since the only game which really focused on Dead Man's Hand with any degree of playability was the PSP version of the game) you play through half of the game set in the 2nd movie, with the third movie taking up the second half of the game along with flavorings of it's essential plot lacing the 2nd movie/first half of the game. Yes, while you are looking for the key to open Davey Jones' chest (from the 2nd movie) to secure his heart you are also gathering the Pirate Lords for the enclave in At World's
