Kitchen remodeling: The "dream kitchen" guide

The kitchen is the house's hearth; it's heart, the room you will usually see someone! It is also the most Remodeled room in the American home. A functional, well-designed kitchen with plenty of cupboards and counter space will often be a trade-off for another shortcoming in the house. Updating or remodeling the kitchen can vary from smart, low-cost (even wholesale) cosmetic improvements such as new wallpaper or window treatments, to a complete renovation. An enjoyable kitchen is both efficient and attractively decorated. This should be not be forgotten as you plan your improvement. Also coordinate you family's lifestyle and how much time will be spent there, not only cooking but one COULD spend a great deal of time there and NEVER cook.

Remodeling the kitchen is almost always an excellent investment. It is a great way to add space for your family's enjoyment and increasing the resale value of your home. Remodeling costs will vary depending on the number of new appliances (and their price level), and price quality of cabinets, type of countertops, and labor to do the job. You may be shocked at the cost of labor...don't be...many times it is your biggest expense!

Most exports agree that for the average American home, a mid-level remodeling job includes new flooring, good quality carpets, new countertops, reasonable priced fixtures and appliances. It is the best way to ensure a good return on your investment. For a complete remodel, the general rule of thumb is not to spend more than 15% of the value of the house. i.e. A home valued at $100,000 should spend no more than $15,000 for the kitchen's remodeling.

I cannot emphasize enough the value in solid planning to determine the outcome of your renovation. As I've said in other articles, you should always begin by thinking of exactly what you want and must have ( needs). The larger and more complicated the project, the more important it is to seek professional help. You should only have to remodel your kitchen one time....so do it right! "Do-overs" are pricey!

Establish a realistic budget, keeping in mind the costs and types of products available. (And don't forget the wide range of prices in each!) Purchase products that can be compared in value to those used in your neighbor's homes. This is a necessity if you want your home to increase in value in relationship to the cost of your project.

You will enjoy selecting the new components in your kitchen. Cabinets and accessories have come a long way in the last 15
