Ways to whiten your teeth at home

Everyone wants those bright white teeth of our childhood, back before we drank six cups of coffee a day and every year age yellowed our smile just a little bit more. Teeth whitening is easy to achieve at your dentist's office but sometimes the cost is prohibitive. There are many over the counter tooth whitening products available but they are also expensive and sometimes difficult to use and not very effective. You can dramatically whiten your teeth and gain back those gleaming choppers using these simple home teeth whiteners. You will be amazed at the results possible using just a few ingredients you probably already have on hand either in your medicine cabinet or kitchen pantry.

Mix together baking soda and salt, brushing your teeth with this abrasive combination will remove plaque from your teeth resulting after time in whiter teeth. baking soda also kills bacteria in the mouth which helps with bad breath odors.Table salt can reduce edema in the gingival tissues and stimulate circulation. Brush your teeth normally then swish your mouth out with peroxide, holding it in your mouth for up to five minutes. The over-the-counter peroxide is not as strong as you find in commercial tooth whitener products and can cause tooth sensitivity over time.

Mixing baking soda and peroxide is the fastest, most effective method of whitening your teeth at home. Simply dip your damp toothbush into a cup of baking soda and pour a little peroxide on it and brush your teeth normally, they will appear whiter even after the first brushing, continue this twice a day. Although all of these at-home methods may take longer than the instant whitening you can achieve at your dentist's office it is certainly possible to achieve the same results at home with a little patience and perseverance.

Most dentists agree that for bacteria killing properties and home teeth whitening baking soda and peroxide are the most effective products you can use safely on a daily basis.
There is no substitute for daily dental hygiene, you cannot expect pure white teeth overnight but with proper brushing it will happen, take care of your teeth!
You may have heard of using strawberries or lemon juice to whiten your teeth with, while this may work in reality the acids contained in these fruits are actually damaging to your tooth enamel and you may end up with a much bigger problem than yellow teeth so stick to the basics to whiten your teeth.
