Poetry: The reason for my tears

by Jillian Furiga

Created on: April 22, 2009

Gone for Good

Hanging on the wall

And here I am trapped from all

I look around my family portrait, and what do I see?

My family, my friends, and yes, even me.

I see Gram, and Mom, my Uncles and Aunts

I see my best friends Angela, Yvonne, Jacia and Irene

But there is something missing in this happy scene

There is someone missing, but who could it be?

He has never been here before, he decided to leave

You know who it is, probably more than me

But for me, I have never had him in my heart you see

Because in our family portrait it's just my family, my friends, and

lonely

little

me.

END

I just wanted to say that in case you didn't figure out who it was, it was my "dad", and he has NEVER been in my life, so I just felt like writing something about it. I have never had a dad in my life, my grandpa was the closest I could get, but he passed a few years ago. I have been holding a lot inside me, and this poem helped me let some of it out.
