To add curb appeal to any home there are some simple projects you can undertake yourself that will perk up the appearance and make your home an eye catcher for potential buyers.

Make sure that the exterior of the house is clean. If you need to wash down shutters or windows, you can rent pressure washers to make the task easier. If you have a problem with chipping, loose or faded paint you may have to consult a professional house painter to take care of that issue. You should also make sure that gutters are clean and now is a great time to wash down carports or garage doors.

You can add appeal by adding color to the yard in the form of inexpensive flowers and flowering shrubs. You can shop at your local home improvement store and find a combination of flowers and shrubs, as well as different types of borders and mulch to fill the bed. You can take an afternoon and make a beautiful bed of colorful flowers and shrubs surrounded by mulch that will instantly add eye catching curb appeal to your home.

You can also place yard ornaments or a birdbath in the yard and it will make it feel homier and add the appeal you are seeking. Things like birdhouses in the trees will also add that little extra special something that people notice while driving by.

You should also make sure that the house numbers are in good shape, nice and clean, attached well and in clear view. You should also make sure that any contact information about the agent or yourself is in plain view.

You can make sure your mailbox is in good repair, whether it is a curbside box or a house box. If it needs replacing you should take care of that and make sure you add the correct house numbers to new box.
