Wedding dress ideas for a beach wedding

A wedding on the beach can be extremely romantic. But, many beach brides often wonder whether they should look for a specific kind of wedding gown that works well their beachside ceremonies of receptions. Although the decision about your wedding day dress should rest solely on your shoulders, beach brides should also take into consideration how comfortable they will be in their gowns. While you may want a poofy princess dress, if it is going to make walking a near impossibility, you should consider opting for a more comfortable gown. You don't want to spend your entire wedding day fussing over your attire. You'll want to be focused on having fun and spending time with family, friends, and of course, your new husband. Taking into consideration the sand (and usually the breeze) that comes as an inherent part of a beach wedding, brides-to-be may want to consider some alternative wedding dress ideas for a beach wedding.

Body type.

No matter what gown you decide on, be sure that it ultimately flatters your unique body type. Regardless of how beautiful a dress looks on a mannequin in the boutique window, or how expensive the label is, if your gown does not flatter your body you will likely spend your wedding day tugging, pulling, fussing, and undeniably uncomfortable. You should feel at the height of beauty on your big day, so be sure that your gown flatters you so that you exude confidence not only at the actual event, but also in the pictures that will immortalize the way you looked on your wedding day forever.

Waistlines.

Waistlines significantly influence the overall look of a wedding gown. Different waistlines work well with certain body types and not with others. Therefore, when you are considering your own body type, keep in mind what kinds of waistlines you should look at for your gown.

Natural waistlines are the common style and accentuate the narrowest part of the body. These kinds of waistlines create the illusion of balance between a woman's upper and lower body. If you've got an hourglass figure, this is a great style for you. However, women with wider hips should avoid the natural waistline, as it will draw attention to their larger bottom halves.

Dropped waistlines generally fall anywhere between three to five inches below a woman's natural waist and usually stop around the hips. If you are full figured, have wide hips, or if you have a short waist this is a great silhouette for you. A dropped waistline will create the illusion of an elongated waist and
